ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES
Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are offered as an accessory to hearing aids or as an alternative to a hearing aid. For a person who is housebound, a personal listening amplifier can make the difference between being able to communicate with family and medical personnel or not. Amplified telephones give individuals confidence that they can pick up the telephone and communicate without making mistakes.
Musicians’ plugs are custom-made for those in musical groups who are listening to music at a high decibel level and wish to help protect their hearing. For live music performances, personal monitors are available making it possible for musicians to hear their performance.
Hearing television with TV Ears provides pleasure to the viewer who no longer needs to strain to hear. Awaken with alarm clocks designed especially to awaken the soundest of sleepers. Doorbell ringers, super phone ringers, baby cry light flashers for mothers with hearing loss are available and FM systems for hard-of-hearing students and others who need extra help in specific listening situations are available.
